Hello! Here you will find information relating to my life and my educational philosophy.
"Experience: the most brutal of teachers. But you learn, my god do you learn." - C.S. Lewis
I am a native Oregonian. I lived in the state my whole life until 2014, when I came here to Nome. I am a first generation college student from a small farming family. Growing up my parents taught me the importance of education and work ethic.
I believe that the experiences we have are a large factor in the people we become.
My passion for Literature is coupled with a strong work ethic and desire to connect with students.
I consider myself to be a lifelong learner. If I could sustain myself as a career student I would!
The past two years I have taken on the difficult, yet rewarding, task of coaching cheerleading. I look forward to another great year with these incredibly motivated athletes. I will also be stepping into the role of Senior class advisor with my partner in crime from last year, Teriscovkya Smith. GO CLASS OF 2017!
"Nobody can teach me who I am. You can describe parts of me, but who I am and what I need - is something I have to find out myself." - Chinua Achebe
Fun facts about me: I love anything related to the "Zombie Apocalypse" and Halloween is my favorite holiday. I own two dogs, one that lives with me here in Nome and one that lives in Oregon. If you see me with a small fox-looking dog beware... She is cranky.
